Superheroes 🦸♂️✨
This morning, I watched the trailer for the newest Superman movie, set to release in 2025.
While it’s bittersweet that Henry Cavill will not portray the role, I’m curious to see how David Corenswet will bring the iconic superhero to life. The Trailer looks promising, and I can’t wait to check it out next year!
Later, I shared this news with my students, and it sparked an exciting conversation about superheroes.
Many of them love both Marvel and DC characters. One student mentioned their favorite is Spiderman —just like me! It was even more fun when we both remembered that Japan created its own version of Spiderman.
Did you know? Japan’s Spiderman isn’t just a web-slinger; he has a car, a motorcycle, and dramatic poses when introducing himself. Plus, he faces unique enemies, including boss-level villains and their minions.
This reminded me of Japan’s love for superheroes. They have their own incredible creations, like Ultraman , Masked Riders , and the Power Rangers (yes, the original Sentai Rangers started in Japan!).
It’s interesting to see how Japanese heroes have their own unique style and storylines while still sharing that universal appeal of superheroes.
